| It doesn't rhyme, but I loved every second of writing this. :)
You still don't know what you've done to me, Obsolete selfishness falls to dust, Unbuilt the walls built around my heart.
All of my instincts are shouting now, Readily telling me, "Stay with her, Everything you want is there within."
Waiting to see what your heart will do, Ominous tension creeps near me now, Never again will I let it in.
Dying to tell you just how I feel, Ever I fear that I'll say too much, Ranting and raving, I'll show you me.
Finding the words is the hardest part, Under the surface they boil in wait, Longing for freedom, I'll set them free...
| Sadly, there's no title to this one. But it still had a very sure purpose. :)
Breaking down this silence now, I've nothing left to lose, As to how to end this lull, I sit and think and muse. Lost in thought, I stumble on, just waiting for my break, As all the while I'm sinking down; I'm hoping soon I wake.
In sleep I find no comfort, and in waking, little joy, Holding you seems like a dream; dear fate is all too coy. All my dreams surround me now, of water, love and flame, So hard again to stop myself from screaming out your name.
You took the evil out of me, you stilled a restless heart, You wait for me with patience, and it's tearing me apart. I badly want to hold you close, to tell you all is done, To cherish, lavish, comfort you, to show you you're the one.
I want to be your everything, I want you to be mine, Await the day when waiting ends, the end of waiting's line, When all will come to pass for us, when all will be made right, When we, my dear, don't have to hide, when no one's left to fight.
Your beauty leaves me breathless every time I see your face, Your kindness still astounds me as I wonder at your grace. Your smile could light the world around, I swear it must be true, Your eyes...one glimpse of them, and I'd do anything for you.
For you could be my future and be all I need and more, And I could be more to you than you've ever dreamed before. I only need a moment, for this gap, it must be filled, And when it's done, I'll be here for you, all our waiting, stilled.
These feelings will all grow with time, becoming something great, From when I met you up till now, they've budded with this wait. Though you may not believe it, you worked magic with your charms, This affection so becoming, I wrap myself up in your arms....
| I wrote this just a few days ago. :)
I saw it there again, within your eyes, That beauty that can cause me still to weep, The briefest glimpse of us, with no disguise, And in that moment I'd forever keep,
I felt it there again, in your warm touch, The gentlest of forevers; we were wed; I hold you close; my love for you is such, That only life without you do I dread,
I heard it there again, soft in your voice, A whisper of a life I pray will be, And now I stand here, relishing this choice, That I'll belong to you, and you to me,
I tasted it again, in your sweet kiss, The sweetest love a mortal ever knew, It wraps me up within a veil of bliss, While our love, every morning, grows anew,
I smelled it there again, your flawless scent, That brings a smile forth, and so much more, The sharpest memory, and I'm content, To let it represent all I adore,
I know it now, beyond all hint of doubt, You're everything I want to know in life, And comforts thought I be with or without, All comfort have I with you as my wife,
So don't you see? You're everything I feel, And please don't think me strange that this I tell, My broken heart, you found a way to heal, For all you are, so wonderfully, I fell.
| I wrote this is 2003. It's still one of my favorites.
Succumb to him who makes us fall, Ensnare the one who rules it all, To take control and raze the wall.
Your overwhelmed decisions die, And hopeless now you start to cry, Redemption, child, is more than nigh.
Your battle soon will reach its height, You cry alone into the night, Discouraged now, you scream for light.
But dark is here and far is day; You must put all your fear away, Though death may soon upon you stay.
At all your foes you stare in hate, You know you hold their final fate, Courageously you sit and wait.
Then silently you grasp your shield, In hand, the sword you choose to wield, To force your enemies to yield.
You march to battle fearlessly, No room here for the cowardly, The enemies stretch endlessly.
The first blood shed is by your hand, A shout is heard throughout the land, At last, your side has made a stand.
The enemy's still pressing in, Though quickly losing hope to win; It vanishes into the din.
It seems that day will come at last, You allied ranks still holding fast, The dreaded night is almost past.
A scream, a cry, a piercing wail, Their courage is of no avail, Their will and strength is soon to fail.
A soldier turns and faces you, The blood from those his sword's gone through, It stains the sword he holds onto.
You've found your match, the fight is on, He's chosen you to prey upon, Won't stop till one of you is gone.
The metal clangs as swords collide, You both must throw your shields aside, In arm and sword you now confide.
His sword is quick, his armor strong, You think, though, "He'll not last for long," You know not yet that you are wrong.
A crushing blow disarms you now, In fear you tremble, wond'ring how; He'd spare your life if you'd just bow.
You honor, though, you must defend, And with this warrior now contend, So even if it brings your end.
Defiantly you stand your ground, As men are dying all around, You block out every other sound.
You summon now the strength to kill, Runs down your spine an icy chill, You lunge at him with mortal will.
Your dagger held in clenchéd fist, As you lash out at throat and wrist, Destroying him with speed and list.
You stand, your adversary dead, A thousand thoughts run through your head; He bears the crest of those you led.
If tried for treason you'll be killed, The battle breaks, you're hands are stilled, Remove his helmet; see his build.
You tremble when you see his face; It stares at you through time and space, And for this sight you are not braced.
You've not seen this is all your wars, Through all your vi'lence, kills, and gores; The face that stares at you is yours.
Just seeing things, or going mad? Though many shocks and awes you've had, You've not seen something quite this bad.
And then you see what this could mean, This battle with yourself, you've seen. This leaves your hands and conscience clean.
You killed what you had since let go, The "he" in you you've hated so, The man inside you'd never show.
You look again to him you've slain. You've lost the past, you've all to gain. Erased, your vice; and ceased, your pain.
Succumbed is him who made you fall, Ensnared, the one who ruled your all; You took control, you razed the wall.
| ???????????????????????????????
Remember what we used to be? Remember all we had? When I was always there for you, And you were never sad? What happened to those days, those weeks? Why did I let you leave? That I may find someone like you, Gets harder to believe... So let's not be that flick'ring star, Whose light's about to fail, Though greed once anchored passion fast, Let's let our ship set sail. The winds of change are blowing strong; Though torrid's every wave, I'll hold you close and comfort you, Your life, preserve and save. Let candied words your pillow be, This poem, your lullaby, Each night, I'll fall asleep with you, And wake there at your side. I'll love you all the days I've left, And ever after death, So rest your head and dream of us, Speak love with every breath.
